THE STORY BEHIND WISDOM BUSINESS COLLEGE
In 1967, a tripartite National Manpower Board comprising representatives of the government, employers (Industry) and workers (Labour) was established in order to plan effective development and utilization of human resource in accordance with the expected socio-economic development of the country.After a comprehensive study of the country's manpower needs and the existing facilities for skill training, the Board requested for assistance from the United Nations development Programme Special Fund (UNDP/SF) in establishing a national vocational training programme.
Knowledge-Based Training has been the system of Education in our country.Technical education has not seen its fair share in the Ghanaian Education System. In terms of further education in the field, not much provision has been made. Wisdom Business College believes that skill development based on Competency-Based Training (CBT) should be the way forward. This will call for the overhaul of the entire technical education curriculum and the re-training of its facilitators.
Currently, the major challenge facing the country is the overproduction of University graduates with little or no skills chasing non-existent jobs(white color jobs), which has led to the now high level of unemployment. The multi-dimensional effects include lack of confidence in the education system, which will eventually affect the enthusiasm of parents investing in their children’s education.
Wisdom Business College strives to serve the needs of the individuals, employers and communities from wide range of backgrounds.
Therefore, our mission is to enable our learners to acquire knowledge and skills that will help them to transform their lives and improve the prospects of employment. With our students succeeding and achieving their courses WBC will contribute to the development of communities and economies of skill sector.
